Douglas C. Jack - Email
Mr. Jack was born and raised in Fergus and continues a family-tradition of providing legal services in his community and beyond. He graduated from St. Jerome’s University, Waterloo, Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) (English) and from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, Ontario with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). He was called to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Ontario in 1985 and has been in private practice since that time. From 1986 to 2000 he practiced in a general firm partnership until he commenced his own practice dedicated to the veterinary profession in 2001.
Throughout his professional career Mr. Jack has focused primarily on commercial and business law matters His specific interests are evidenced in the leading roles he plays in the delivery of legal services to the veterinary profession. He is a charter and founding member and former President of the American Veterinary Medical Law Association (the only Canadian to have served in that capacity) and a member of a number of other veterinary interest groups including the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the Veterinary Hospital Managers’ Association. He is a guest lecturer at Ontario Veterinary College, Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Atlantic Veterinary College and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Calgary. He is the author of two books on veterinary practice management and numerous published articles in veterinary journals throughout Canada and the United States. A much sought-after speaker, Mr. Jack regularly lectures at veterinary conferences throughout the World.
Cheryl Redman - Email
Cheryl Redman has been engaged as Mr. Jack’s personal law clerk for a period in excess of 20 years. Cheryl grew up on a local farm and continues to reside with her family in Fergus. She takes an active interest in community events. Throughout her career she had developed a unique skill-set which permits her to attend to the needs of the firm’s clients in a professional and efficient manner.
Holly Wantenaar - Email
Holly Wantenaar serves as the firm’s corporate law clerk having developed her skills over a period of years - she specializes in matters of veterinary corporations and compliance. Her experience in law offices in Toronto and Fergus has provided her with a sound background to serve the needs of our commercial clients. Holly and her husband operate a family dairy farm near Fergus.
Debbie Jack
Debbie Jack provides accounting services to her husband’s law practice making the firm a true “family business”. A former lending and administrative officer of a Canadian chartered bank, Debbie brings a great deal of experience to this important function within the firm.
Tammy Ball - Email
When issues relating to real estate arise in a client matter, the firm calls upon Tammy for her experience in both residential and commercial real estate matters. Ensuring that the appropriate documents are prepared and registered Tammy will make sure that all appropriate investigations relating to the property have been completed and that financial institutions are satisfied with their various mortgage requirements. Tammy lives with husband and two children in Arthur, Ontario.
Lisa Zabielski - Email
Lisa provides general clerical services within the firm with a special emphasis on estate planning and administration matters. Lisa was formerly engaged by Mr. Jack’s father’s firm and has continued her engagement with us over a 20 year career in the law. Her positive and kind demeanor in assisting clients is welcomed by all.
